Dr. Roger Johnson, DVM
Dr. Roger Johnson together with Dr. Terry Maxwell started the AHOM in February 2001. During his first year at college, while thinking about career choices, he realized that he loved biology and enjoyed working with his hands. Teaching did not appeal to him, so he thought veterinary medicine would be a good fit, as he has always loved animals. Dr. Johnson graduated from Universided de Guadlajara (Mexico) in 1979.
Dr. Johnson takes a special interest in caesarian sections and says he enjoys how well the AHOM team members work together, making for lower stress on a day to day basis. He says that is important for him to keep abreast of new developments in veterinary medicine so that he may provide individualized treatment for each pet, knowing that pets are important family members.
In Dr Johnsons's spare time he enjoys reading, walking, and bicycling. He fondly remembers his last pet Mitzi, who he says was a fat, loveable beagle. She eventually suffered from kidney failure and crossed the Rainbow Bridge a few years ago.

Dr. Kaija Platacis, DVM
Dr. Kaija Platacis, affectionately called Dr. P, joined the Franklin Animal Clinic team in August 2011. She loves being a part of this passionate and supportive group of people. She is proud to work among her co-workers and in a clinic that values clients and employees above all else.
Dr. P attended Purdue University where she graduated with her DVM degree in 2007. She truly enjoys developing relationships with her clients and her patients. She takes great pride in providing individualized attention to every pet owner so that together they can provide the best possible care. "There is no greater feeling than when a sick pet feels better, and celebrating that victory with the owner."
Dr. Platacis enjoys every aspect of veterinary medicine, but takes a special interest in client education, dental procedures, internal medicine and shelter medicine.
Outside of work, Dr. P enjoys reading, and is a member of a book club. She enjoys doing anything outside, being near or in any body of water, and especially enjoys spending time with her family. She currently resides in Greenwood with her husband and son. Her "boys" keep her on her toes and are both the treasure of her heart.

Fay has been with our clinic since 2012. In 2008, she received her AAS in Veterinary Technology. She is especially interested in the fields of radiolgoy and mircrobiology. Fay first became interested in the field of veterinary medicine when whe was in middle school. While growing up, she had friends and family who had previously been employed with our clinic and even did job shadowing herself after school. Fay really enjoyed learning everything that veterinary medicine had to offer. Fay says her farvorite thing about AHOM is our "family like surroundings".
During her free time, Fay enjoys plaing music, participating in the Martinsville comunity choir and "hanging with her family". Fay is owned by two 1 1/2 year old Redbones, who are siblings and keep her busy as they are full of energy and love to run and play. Among her other fur kids, she has a Beagle mix, a rabbit, a cockatiel; whom she rescued, and a male kitten who showed up at her front door and has never left.
